Go to the store and get a box of Maypo cereal. it is usually with the oatmeals and grits.
- 1 ½ cups of water. Best to use water from the lake you're fishing.
- ½ cup peanut butter. I use Jiff.
- a couple squirts of maple syrup
- 4 tablespoons of sugar
Boil the water, add peanut butter, sugar, and syrup. Soon as the peanut butter melts stir in the Maypo and reduce to a low simmer and stir 'til it thickens. It won't get real thick. Lay out a sheet of foil and spread the Maypo on it and let it cool. It will seem soft but in a couple hours it's great, and will last for days. Slap it on a no. 2 or 4 bait hook. HOLD ON....
